Tank course by Jan. 15th

Holy crap…Gophur blind sided me with that yesterday.  I barely finished the rifle range and indirect/grenade range and he comes into the office and tells me that the tank training course has to be complete by the 15th of January.  I wish he would have told me that a little sooner.   Afterall, the rifle range which was functionally complete back in October, got so many additions that I didn’t get it finished (functionally and visually) until last Monday.  I still need to tweak some of the textures a bit before real release but it is 99% and that is good.

I have a feeling the tank course will be minimalistic for the 15th, and we’ll have to dress it up afterwards.

    Re-use, recycle, regurgitate others’ work.

Think of a fractal design that quickly expands. (and use R. Penrose’s diamond/dart tesselating tile pattern for textures (non-repeating from 2 shapes).

Don’t know if it applies to the art – but it was fun to write at 2am!

In one of the beta patchs, the texture of the rifle range was only dark brown in the top hills and green in the bottom… it looked better that way than with the current yellow-brown of the top. I remember that dark brown texture very well and was nice because it looked like fresh wet terrain… and that was the colour of recently moved ground in northern europe.

It’s possible to consider that dark brown style, in future works as part of the overall looking of european terrain?. European mud never looks like yellow-brown at all.

Yes i know that you live in Texas 🙂
