Week 2: Give Me Your Digits!

Well, we are on week 2 of the rigging class.   This week we set up the biped in the fingers and toes.  Nothing too radical yet….

This lesson reminded me that Biped’s toe links are set up for a character wearing some sort of shoe, and not for actual toes.   So all you riggers out there remember to keep your toe joints in the middle of the mesh when rigging toe toes.  Don’t worry so much about the biped objects being centered over the geometry.  If you already knew that, then 2 stars for you.

On a slightly related note:  I finally figured out why my custom quad menus in Max wouldn’t stick or appeared not to work.  Apparently, after making one or customizing one, you need to change focus to a different menu window before the modification will work.  This is in regards to Max 9…not sure if you have that issue with previous versions.

    Awesome.

Butterface? seriously? Maybe her mouth is too small.

Btw thanks for your nice comments on my OT ‘I got a job at Cryptic’ thread. I’m really stoked about working there.
