Lil’ Update

In case any of you are interested, I did a little bit more work on my Weadling character in Mudbox.

I added some more definition (still needs some), added arm wraps and worked on his face some (around the eyes mostly).

    Can you model a Horse for WWIIOL? 🙂

    I think that Horses are way more interesting than parachuting dogs.

    I will develop a bit…

    Horses aren’t easy to model, their anatomy is hard to model but you can get a good reference in Oblivion, and other games.

    A recon needs sometimes Mobility, and even if you doesn’t now… was normal procedure even in late war to use horses in some units to make recon tasks over rude terrain where you can’t use vehicles… especially the mountain divisions did it.

    Horses are silent… Motorbikes are faster. Each one has advantages in different situations.

    The problem is that in our game our low terrain resolution, makes that almost every cros country route is possible for every vehicle… but in some places in real life, the slope and the rocky ground, makes horses the best solution for recon patrols that require hight mobility.

    This horse model can’t be useful for 1.26 nor even for 1.27… there are some requeriments that we must have first:

    * We need hight resolution terrain with zones impassable by vehicles due to the high slopes and rocky nature (Terrain II).

    * We need infantry that can join and bail out of the horse and motorbikes.

    But will be nice to have a horse model in the future.

    Funny you mention horses.

    A long time ago, we entertained the idea of putting horses in the game, I actually modeled a low poly one.

    The idea was nix’d though. Not sure if could get any “legs” now.
