So work is coming along. I am currently helping Granik remove world objects that contain alpha colliders in them. What a pain in the ass. I’m working on that huge monstrosity of a cube we call one of our urban block buildings. I basically had to rebuild it. Rebuild as in LOD1, LOD2, DamageObject1, DamageObject2, Collider for both LODs and their respective DamageObjects. The good news is once I get this one done, I can reuse most of the geometry for other urban block models. Gophur is always on my ass…he won’t say it but I think he thinks I am taking too long. Oh well.

When I go home, I am working on my little Scripting project. I am starting to get the hang of the Editor, and the scripting language is starting to make sense to me now. It’s a lot less blurry then it was a week and a half ago. The people over at Epic’s community forums are really helpful most of the time and that helps immensely. I hope to be ready to start on the art mods some time next week, or find some more artists that want to contribute.

    Cool to here those city blocks are finaly get a work over. Looking forward to fighting in the new versions.

    And as for your own project, anything you managed to do so far that your been impressed with?

    Good new on the buildings, though are you replacing them with a new looking model or just redoing them same as they were?

    No..Granik is doing the bridges…I took on the big fucking urban buildings…not so smart on my part. On most of them, we are completely replacing the old ones.

    So since you guys are having so much fun rebuilding all of the world objects,I assume you’d really be eager to replace them again sometime in order to implement a world changeover to four-state damage modeling? I only ask on the off chance that anyone that mattered would actually become interested in that approach to dynamic-visual-realism enhancement.

    TOTO I am really glad to hear that the buildings will finally all get a facelift! Those old 2D buildings (mostly the city blocks) were often the reason why my friends said the game loked outdated and old. They DID like the small towns with all the new 3D buildings, but those 2D cardboards turned them off big time!

    It would be nice if you could keep us a bit updated and informed about the rebuild, sounds very interesting if you ask me 🙂
